Welcome to The Longhouse, St. Nicholas
Our traditional Welsh longhouse is perched on The Tumble with beautiful views over looking the city. Situated close to Culverhouse Cross & between Cowbridge & Cardiff we are ideally located for an escape from the hustle & bustle and just a short hop off the M4.
The Longhouse Story
The Longhouse was opened in October 2016 by Andy Aston as he looked for a new challenge following great success at businesses such as the much loved Woods Brasserie, Cardiff Bay & more recently running The Kings Arms, Pentyrch.
Andy decided it was time to shake off the shackles of a brewery owned site & took the plunge on this famous landmark, an authentic 17th century Longhouse steeped in history & full of original features. The Longhouse is full of character, with exposed stone walls, log burning fire & flagstone floor.
Our aim is to create a warm & friendly welcome & a place where you can enjoy delicious food created by our dedicated chefs with passion & care for our produce & ingredients. The menus are varied & change daily to make the most of local, seasonal produce.
The Longhouse features a cosy dining area & a comfortable bar for a more intimate setting. Whether it be for an informal lunch, business meeting or special occasion we think you’ll find us ideal & your more than welcome to just pop in for a pint!
